This is by far the strangest, weirdest glitch I’ve ever seen. I was able to track this phantom blog post back to the Bluehost plugin.

The Glitch: Random text appears after blog posts in WordPress.

It appears to be using subtitles form a Forbes article and generic placeholder text as the body.

TLDR: Super strange, but a quick solution – disabling the Bluehost plugin temporarily. I’ve contacted their support with a full breakdown of this troubleshooting.

This is placeholder text, designed to illustrate how actual text will look in this space. It doesn’t contain meaningful content but mimics the flow and length of real sentences. Use it to evaluate layout, typography, and overall design before replacing it with your final, relevant content.

Research:

Pretty much the only thing I could find was this article, which suggested that the Bluehost plugin was the cause: https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/placeholder-text-appeared-in-blog-page/

Troubleshooting:

This text does not appear anywhere in the following locations:

  • Posts (in visual or HTML)
  • Page (in visual mode, HTML mode, or theme editor)
  • Theme/Templates
  • Widgets
  • PHPmyAdmin

But the text DOES have a post ID – multiple ones, actually, with invalid characters (–1, for example), but directly going to this URL doesn’t work.

Bluehost – ya’ll got any thoughts?
